Enjoy easy home cooking with the Aroma Simply Stainless 3-Cup (Uncooked) 6-Cup (Cooked) Rice Cooker. It prepares 2 to 6 cups of restaurant-quality cooked rice at the press of a button, automatically switching to keep-warm once the rice has cooked to perfection. This convenient appliance is also great for cooking deliciously easy oatmeal, soup, stew, chili and more. The cooking pot is made completely of surgical grade 304 stainless steel. And once the cooking is done, the cooking pot removes for quick and easy cleanup in the dishwasher. Includes measuring cup and serving spatula.

For the price this cooker is a bargain. It is not perfect; it "spits" a bit out of the "blow hole" in the lid and the rice sticks to the stainless steel cook bowl more than my previous cooker but it cleans easily. The easy clean up and the ease of making rice are what I was looking for. I make two or three small batches of rice a week because I make dogfood for my pets. I use the cooker in my garage kitchen so the "spitting" is not an issue. I am very pleased with the purchase.

Had a smaller rice cooker before this one - with an aluminum cooking bowl as compared to the stainless on this one. Mostly wanted a slightly larger cooker but turns out that the rice doesn't stick as much to the stainless as it did to the aluminum. Another advantage is that the rice cooks a fair amount faster in the new one - either it gets hotter faster or simply hotter or more elements? I read online while I was selecting this one that to prevent sticking put a couple of drops of oil in the stainless bowl and rub it around to coat it before adding the rice and water. This helps a lot and if you turn off (unplug) the cooker after it's finished it doesn't stick as much. If you don't unplug it, it goes into a "keep warm" mode which seems to contribute to more sticking to the bottom of the bowl.
Anyway, the cooker is great for the price, hope the usability hints help.

This stainless steel cooker has been a life saver. I cook all my grains in it including rice, quinoa, millet, etc.
I bought it as I wanted to avoid a toxic non-stick coating basket. I throw the stainless steel basket in the dishwasher. You can let it soak if food gets stuck at the bottom beforehand. The cooker stops automatically when the grain is cooked and keeps it warm.

Our last rice cooker made enough for me to freeze or to have in the fridge for a couple of days. This one really will only do enough for the four of us in one meal. BUT it is all stainless steel, and we love it. I can do more than just rice. I can do vegies and add vegie broth, etc.

I also give it only four stars because after the rice is done, it does NOT shut off!!!! Why not? It goes to WARM. Well, if I am busy, then it will burn and it is a pain to clean the burnt stuff off the bottom. I wish it would just shut off, because it would stay warm for a long time.

Works wonderfully and quinoa does not stick to the bottom of the pan though I coat it with a little coconut oil before using. It is easy to operate. Takes a minute to get used to the bubbling when it begins cooking but not too long. Easy to operate and easy to clean.

This little 3-cup rice steamer (not a cooker!) makes good rice and cleans up easily. It's quite fast, too, but the lid rattles as the water is boiling while it steams the rice. My biggest complaint is the price. I was in a hurry when I bought this and didn't compare it to other sizes by the same company. Now I see that the 10-cup version of the same model line is about the same price while a 6-cup version is more expensive than either one. All sold by Amazon, not a 3rd party. What's the deal?

This does a great job at cooking rice, but I have not tried cooking anything else. I had to experiment with how much water to put in the outer part of it according to how much water I was using for the rice. I found it helps to soak the rice for 30 min. first. I use Indian Basmati rice, so I use 2 cups of water in the inner pot along with 1 cup of rice (that is, U.S. measures). I then use the little enclosed cup to put about 1-1/2 cups in the outer chamber. I just find it annoying that the enclosed cup is only 6 oz., so when it is advertised as a 3-cup rice cooker, it is NOT 3 cups U.S. measure - it is 3 of the little 6-oz cups. So I just stick to the U.S. 1 cup rice/2 cups water measure, and it is fine.

This stainless steel rice cooker and steamer offers multi-functional cooking options: cooks rice and porridge, stews soup, steams vegetables, fish and poultry, and much more all with a simple touch of a button. Cooks with steam to maintain nutrients for a healthy lifestyle Stainless steel components: body, cover and inner pot Features automatic shut-off and independent Warm switch Note: With this unit, the amount of water in the cooker determines the cooking time, you may add more if desired, but at least 1-Cup of water must be placed in the cooker before starting the cooking cycle

We enjoy white rice each and every day for as long as I can remember and we have waited a long time for an 3-4 cup rice cooker that utilized a non-coated stainless inner steam pot. For the past two years Sunpentown's competitor's 8 cup stainless cooker has been our mainstay and though it has been a nice unit it was always an effort to clean the stainless pot and learned that soaking it with soapy water for 30 minutes was very helpful, but still two of us didn't require such a large cooker. By chance I happened to hear of the Sunpentown 3 cup rice cooker at a reasonable price and maintained it included a stainless steel inner cooking pot. I ordered one from Amazon and was so dissapointed after reading the opinion/review that the inner pot was or could be coated with some type of non-stick coating so I e-mailed Sunpentown asking if this was or wasn't true. Within an hour I received a cordial letter informing me that all of the inner cooking components were indeed stainless steel and were never coated with any PTFE or other non-stick coating. After receiving the cooker we enjoyed 3 cups of great tasting rice and because the pot sits in 1 cup of water the extreme temperature to the bottom of the inner pot is minimized and the rice is cooked evenly. We still soak the cooking pot for a short time but it is not necessary and cleaning is very easy. Thank you Sunpentown for developing exactly the right rice cooker this family wanted.

This rice maker is awesome! I did my research and was looking to purchase a rice maker free of Teflon with a great price. This rice maker has met my expectations. I use it twice a week. Very easy to clean. Follow the directions and you will have great rice every time! I have only made sticky-sushi rice in it so far. Delivery took a little longer then expected, absolutely love my choice!

This is my second Oyama CFS-B12U All Stainless Rice Cooker. The first one lasted 3 years. I use it at least 3 to 5 times a week. I eat a lot of rice. I love the simple one button operation. It cooks the rice to perfection every time. The stainless steel bowl is easy to clean. A little tip, spray it with cooking spray before you put the rice and water into it and it cleans up even faster. I make rice in the morning when I leave for work and it stays warm all day long (up to 24hrs). Doesn't get much easier. I did try the Panasonic with Fuzzy Logic before reordering this unit. I thought all the fancy option might be a plus. They were not, only more expensive and the Panasonic cannot cook rice properly, or at least to my satisfaction. Get this unit and you will not be disappointed.

This is an excellent rice cooker. It cleans up so easy, and no more nasty "non-stick coating' in our food!
My suggestions for using this cooker:

1) Use more water than specified in the instructions to avoid dry, stuck on rice in the bottom of the pot. Try using between 1.5 to 2 measures of water to 1 measure of rice. Experiment with the ratio to find your preferred cooked rice.

2) Set it outside on your porch or patio to avoid steaming up the house!

This rice cooker is great for several reasons:

1) it is stainless steel

2) It can cook ,barley, quinoa, rice , brown rice, lentils , bulgur , just about any grain. (you have to experiment with the amount of water)

3) the genius of the design is that the bowl is shaped so that when the water has been absorbed, the
cooker senses it, and goes into warming mode. If you want the grain to be softer , you need to use more
water. you can add water and push the button down again if necessary (after waiting a couple minutes)

4) it has no electronics to break down...the shape of the bowl takes care of knowing when the water is absorbed.
It's an inherently intelligent design.

5) with the steamer, you can cook rice in the bottom and vegetables , tofu etc in the top simultaneously. Just start it , and it will shut off
when done , and go into the warm mode. Good if you can't watch it .. You just have to make sure you use the right proportion of water...

I like this cooker. I've had it for nearly two years with no trouble until just recently. It is a reasonably dependable, no frills aka "cheapie" rice cooker that people pay a premium for, to get the stainless steel cooking bowl. My complaints are:

o The cooker is too small at "8" Asian measure rice cups. I like to use the rice cooker as a smart pot, and make whole one pot meals in it, with plenty of left-overs. Along with brown rice, split peas, lentils and pre-cooked beans a batch will include tons of diced vegetables, like cut carrots, sweet and regular potatoes, onions, mushrooms, herbs and especially tons of chopped kale, mustard greens and spinach -- and it's basically stuffed to get that all in to cook an efficient batch. I had a "10" cup micom cooker before and it was a better size, more towards adequate.

o The engineering and assembly quality are OK, but I'd like to have seen better for the price. After less than two years of normal but careful duty, the cooking bottom stopped working. Of course there is only one year's warranty. I took it apart and fooled with the switch a bit, a stamped steel arm that raises a spring collar in the center of the pot ... and got it to work again (surprisingly) as well as ever, which is good. But you're not going to be overcome by the build quality.

While the cooker was down, I noticed there is another stainless steel cooker now, a model of Aroma that is larger and comes in 14 and 20 cup versions for $40 and $50 respectively. I might try one of those.

But what I would really like would be a LARGE Zojirushi quality Micom (timeable, programmable) rice cooker that has a high quality stainless steel bowl.

I usually do this to make my rice:

Use a mix of medium or long grain brown rice with split peas and lentils. You can mix and match the dry rice, split peas and lentils in whatever proportion you like, they all cook the same. Usually I soak the batch for at least an hour before cooking, but it's easier to just keep a couple of batches soaking over night (for up to 3-4 days) in the fridge. I measure by weight the grains+legumes to water at 1 part grains+legumes to 1.33 part water, e.g. 500 grams brown rice/lentils to 667 grams water, soak it overnight. It just takes an inexpensive kitchen gram scale and you can precisely measure the ratio to get just the texture of the rice you want.

I let the batch go through it's cooking cycle and typically let it set for 1/2 hour on warm, so the texture is just how I like it.

I eat every grain of rice and every lentil in the pot; there is no burning or sticking, and use no oil in cooking. There are some very thin darkened streaks & spots of starch at the bottom of the stainless steel bowl. And using lentils, chopped carrots-sweet-potatoes & greens cooked with the mix -- there are some colored marks also left on the bottom of the bowl. I use a stainless-steel pad to remove these usually each time to leave the bowl shining. Cleanup takes about two minutes, and no waste of food.

We've had this rice cooker for several months now and are delighted with it! In my experience, 8 cups of dry rice is way too much to cook, at least for the kind of rice we use that requires a lot of water. I do no more than 3 1/2 dry cups at a time or it overflows. You also want to be sure, when the unit is on, to place it so that it isn't directly beneath anything (it produces a lot of steam that escapes through the hole in the lid and can give your cabinets a sauna), but if you follow those instructions, it works perfectly. Some rice sticks to the bottom, of course, but brief soaking gets it right off. It produces excellent rice and keeps it warm and delicious. It makes us feel so good to be using stainless steel instead of a nonstick or aluminum pot.

When we decided to buy a rice cooker - we knew that we were going to purchase one without an aluminum or teflon pan. That narrowed the field of options quite a bit. Our new Miracle Stainless Steel Rice Cooker is the best! The rice came out perfectly, the pan was not difficult to clean up, and it was simple to operate.

Poor directions, need to unplug to turn off, and rice sticks to the bowl. The need to use butter or oil in the rice was unexpected and unwelcome. We have cooked basmati white rice, short and long grain brown rice, and have not had a successful outcome yet!

So far great!!! I like that you can walk off and leave it cooking away. Also, I like that you can remove the lid in about 30 minutes and check the rice by taste without causing it to shut down. You must do this quickly, however. I found that white grain rice cooks more quickly than recipe calls for. I would not recommend leaving it alone for time where it cuts to warm. I think it overcooked a tad/too soft/and dry as far as liquid called for not enough to leave alone until goes to warm. I would actually time and maybe taste in about 15 to 20 minutes to get an idea of how it is progressing as far as softness. I used a recipe that called for 1 1/4 cup rice using measure device and can seasoned (14ounce) tomatoes, 1 and 1/2 cup water, red pepper chopped and onion, salt, chili powder. Next time I will cook in less time, use less rice such as one measure cup full (measure cup provided with cooker) and brown the rice in another pan and then use that same pan to sauté onions and peppers gently before throwing all in Miracle Rice Cooker. The browning of rice was hard as it cut to warm too quickly before browning was accomplished. So, what I am saying, this is great and you can do more than simple recipes as you can see and love how it did not burn etc. I did not leave it in the container over 5 minutes which I think cuts down on the burned area and maybe leaves a little tiny dark brown on metal only here and there. I think leaving all in cooker dries out the rice and contents and produces the little bit of dark brown on metal. I would buy one of these units again but in a few months I will come back and let all of you know if it is still working. I know it is under warranty a year if bought new so that helps. And remember, you must use caution until you get the feel of using one of these and always mark your recipes so that the next time you will know just exactly what measurements, times to allow etc and changes that are for the better with great success in the end.

Once I found the ratio or water to rice that I like. For small amounts of rice or large; the rice comes out cooked the same. The clean up is easy. There is some rice left on the bottom of the cooking bowl. However I fill the bowl with water and let it soak while I eat and afterwards the "stuck" on rice wipes out easily. No scrubbing and no scratching the stainless steel bowl. After one year and using it 2 to 3 times a week....I like it so well I decided to buy a backup. Yes this is my SECOND one. The first still is working, but was concerned when it does eventually need replaced it might not be available. I have to much cupboard space so decided to use some of that space a second rice cooker because I don't ever want to be without this cooker. It might seem extreme, but rice is a main component of most of my meals. Can I give it a couple more stars?
